Product Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills "SEE AND BE SEEN" kit

Hey BP readers!
Haayoodoing?  *In Wendy William's voice.
I'm here... Overly thankful to God for life and great health :D

Yeah!
So i'm guessing some of you guys must have heard of her. For those who haven't, she's like the BROW KING these days! She has everything you can think of brow-wise... Stencils, pencils, brow powders, gel, even serums.... You could check her youtube to learn some brow tricks.

See and Be seen
Packing?
Peng!!!

All contents are wrapped in another paper (like a gift wrap) with the brand name inscriptions.

Content

- A brow gel in "Caramel"
- 2 hydraful lipglosses (in "plastic" and Heiress)
- Illuminate eyeshadow duo

The brow gel is in the shade Caramel.
It has gold highlights..

The hydrafull gloss in plastic

The hydrafull gloss in heiress

The illumin8 duo shadow

Swatches
Top without flash and bottom with flash.
From left
Heiress gloss, Plastic gloss, The caramel brow tint, last two are the illumin8 eyeshadow duo (without primer).

I played around with the kit and kept adding different products.( totally forgot I was reviewing just the kit)
Oh well, I came up with this look. I'll specify where I used products from this kit and if you'd like to know what I used in other places, simply ask.

Theme: Sunset

Lips: Plastic lipgloss (I used a pink liner too)
Brow: I used a brow pencil to draw out the shape, then highlighted with the caramel brow tint
Eyes: I used the lighter one of the duo shadow in the inner corner of my eye.
I also used the darker gold on my eyelid.

What I don't like..

- The glosses have this spatula-like things rather than regular brushes. It made application quite weird and uneven.
- The brow tint, Can't be used to achieve a natural look for people with dark brows

What I love about this kit

- At first I didn't think the Caramel brow tint would work on my very dark brow hair but see, I think I really like it. Just this and that, you'll be good to go.
Note: This might not work good for everyone with dark brow hair. (Not for you if you're looking to achieve a natural look)

- Everything! All the items in this kit, well pigmented.

Would I recommend to a friend?
Sure!
It's a great great great deal as these shades of the hydrafull glosses can be found in only this kit. The glosses are my fav! Comfortable and long lasting.

How To Depot Eyeshadows (Into the Mac Pro Palette W/O inserts)

Hey lovelies....!
I'm full of smiles today cause when I woke up, I told myself I'd stay happy, come what may! :D

Here's a step by step post on how you can depot eyeshadows into the MAC pro palette.

There are several palettes out there all for you to have loads of colours at a go! It reduces all the bulky stuff you have to move around with, especially as a make up artist.

This is what the Pro palette i'm using today looks like.
Most people get inserts to fit in this palette so they can then use it for whatever makeup they decide. If you get the lipstick insert, then you have a lipstick palette.

The inserts with the highest pots for eyeshadows from MAC has15 pots.
15 to me is too little and then my favourite eyeshadows aren't all from MAC Cosmetics.
With that in mind, I decided to get the palette anyway but without the inserts.

All I'm working with today

What you need...

The palette
Nail file (you can use a very flat knife if you find one)
Glue
Candle and a match Box or a lighter
Then your eyeshadow

Here's how
For the mac shadows depot

Locate where you have that line, push in the file and twist.

You'll hear a click sound.
Take out the insert and hold with a lash holder (like me) or you could use a tweezer.

Hold over flame in a fast swinging motion so the insert doesn't flame up nor melt.

After a few seconds, turn insert over and use the file to push out the pan.

All these can be done carefully, without damaging the case.

The insert should still fit in and make a click sound.

Why take care when you don't need the case?
I heard MAC gives a free lipstick with every 5 empty MAC cosmetics case you return. So there!

Next thing you want to do is name your pot.

Hold over flame for 2 seconds without burning, it gets really easy to peel off.

You either stick this to the bottom of the pan if you're not glueing it to the palette OR you stick the name to the approximate opposite part of the palette lid where that pot would be glued.

Repeat steps for as many shadows that can fit in. Mind you, MAC has refill  shadows (you don't have to depot) at an even cheaper rate.

The depoting is quite different but easy anyway.

(The shadows don't come with those blue strips. It was just a form of identification back in makeup school. So nobody "mistakenly" keeps my property X_X LOL!)

Hehe....!

I'm totally about these particular shadows these days.
That's already 12 shadows and space for more.

Have a happy-happy weekend!

DIY : Cheap lipstick palette

Heyy darrrrrlyns!
I know it's been forever, no excuses!
I kinda "holiday-ed" too much and got extra extra lazy! X_X

Today's DIY (Do it Yourself) post is a fun one and way cool if you're
1. On a budget
2. Not in love with flamed deporting of lipsticks (like me)
3. Looking to stop carrying bulky stuff around

On a budget...
This is like the cheapest way to have your best of lipsticks in one place. Cost of this home made palette is approximately 300-500 naira. Getting a MAC empty palette or the Z Palette with the inserts would cost waaaaay more than.

Not in love with flamed deporting...
So there are like other methods of deporting where you actually have to melt the lipsticks over direct flame. I just feel like after that direct heat, something goes wrong.

Looking to stop carrying bulky stuff...
Fun how 21 or more of your favourite lipsticks are together. Just a hand away!

All you need

1. A pill box (found in standard pharmacies)
2. A hand dryer
3. A cosmetic spatula ( well, i used a table knife)
4. Sanitizer wipe (you could use any non toxic cleaning agent)
5. A flat mixing palette ( I sha used a film... The point is, use a non messy surface that would not absorb your lipstick)
6. And your lipstick.

Here's how...

Disinfect all you'll use

Mac "Cyndi", Beauty UK "Sunset" and Avon "totally kissable".

Choose lipsticks to be deported
Roll lipstick all the way and cut 3/4 way

 Crush evenly

Carefully transfer to pill box

Spread evenly in box

Clean any mess

Turn dryer on to low heat and hold on to the lipstick.

After 2mins ( or more depending on the  lipstick) your lipstick should look like this

Leave to cool and YEEEEEPS! You're done :)

You might want to peel off the name from the lipstick and stick on your palette for easy reference.
Ces finis!

Repeat till you get all you want

This post will be updated after I fill all the empties.
Here's Hoping this was helpful to you!

And oh! Sorry about the poor photos, y'all sha get the drill *wink
